LAURA DESPAIN, AGENT
Born and raised in Harlingen, Texas, Laura spent her childhood fishing the Lower Laguna Madre and hunting across South Texas with her family. She worked weekends and summers helping her father with his commercial Nilgai hunts and hunting operations. In 1996, Laura married Bob DeSpain, who's family has been cattle ranchers and landowners since the mid-1800's in Texas. Together, they run cattle on family ranches and partner with other landowners throughout South Texas. She enjoys being involved with the wildlife and habitat management of the family ranches. Her love for the outdoors and for wildlife brought her to receive her wildlife rehabilitation license with Texas Parks and Wildlife (TPWD). In cooperation with TPWD Laura and her family rehabilitate, foster, and liberate wounded or orphaned wildlife under her watchful eye.
Laura, her husband, Bob, and their son, Colton, reside in Atascosa County. Their daughter, Kaelyn, is currently attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Laura and Bob also operate DeSpain Land Services, a heavy equipment company specializing in dirt and brushwork, pond construction, erosion control and any other habitat management practices needed throughout South and Central Texas. In her free time, Laura enjoys sharing her passion for the outdoors with her family.
Laura became a licensed real estate agent in 1998. After taking some time off to raise her two children and help with family businesses, she is excited to be back in the ranch real estate business where she can use her knowledge and varied experience to help people find just the right property.
